Controversy exists to the origin of the Palomino, some suggest that their ultimate origin goes back to the ages of 1200BC, others claim they were prized by kings of Yemen.

In the 15th century Queen Isabella of Spain maintained a stable of golden Palominos. The Palomino appears to have been rediscovered when the United States took possession of California in 1848.

Regardless of the origin, today's Palomino can be found all over the world.
